A QUICK VIEW OF TRIP PROGRESS, MILES TO DATE AND ASCENT

Over the course of trip, I expect to pedal 3415 miles and climb 90,039 feet--for an average of about 2046 feet  per day. I will cross 15 state lines and take  a 'dip' in two oceans and cross  5 mountain ranges. The longest single day on a bike will be 115 miles in Arizona.

Departure is Manhattan Beach Pier Los Angeles California at 7:45 am on May 10, 2009.
